The five of us (ages 2 to 68) were in absolute heaven. On day two of a visit a huge Orca whale almost joined us for coffee on the rocks directly behind the house. It was incredible. Five of the seven days we stayed here the Orcas (and a humpback) cruised back and forth behind the house making it really hard to care about going anywhere else or do anything but watch them.

When the Orcas did give us a break we walked up the driveway picking blackberries for a pie, visited nearby beaches (where a fox decided to crash our picnic), and went for runs on the trails….all of which was wonderful…but the best was getting back to our San Juan Island “home.” The house, the yard, and rocks behind the house were are favorite spots. Complete privacy with the perfect view. I’m keeping this review short as others have said it all so well – but, I did want to say ….after seeing the island and other spots to stay …..we could not have been happier with our choice to stay here and were sad to leave, Enjoy!

Caveat: obviously, depending on the time of year you go and luck….I can’t promise you Orcas watching like we experienced.
