Waterhouse, Take Me Away
Stephanie P., Hutto Texas, Stayed Apr 2015
As I am hiding in my bedroom back in Texas, listening to a house full of shrieking teenagers, I am transporting myself back in time (one month) to the Waterhouse. My husband and I stayed for three nights. We holed up at the Waterhouse except for a few excursions into town to shop at King’s Market (we did stop there right off the ferry but needed to add a little to our groceries once we decided we were definitely staying put), antique and used book shopping, our Christmas ornament for our travel tree, and finding Joe to make my beautiful meat and cheese boards (which is a whole ‘nother story).
We had all the windows open the first day due to our luggage unloading and unpacking but quickly cranked them back down and had the fireplace going, which quickly got lit every morning for coffee and was great to have on at night with wine. We were able to prepare wonderful meals due to all the utensils available and that wickedly cool propane cookstove!
At our daily treks to the cove, we found starfish, sea glass, awesome driftwood, and beautiful rocks. Oh, and the grass around the property was such a lovely emerald green! Eagles, ducks, sea lions (at least that’s what my husband thinks he saw), and deer came to visit us, too. The house is situated on the property so that all of the rooms have a great view of the ocean right outside the windows. It was great to wake up and look out the window first thing laying in bed to see the water. I only wish we could have experienced an awesome lightning storm and/or whales. I already feel relaxed just picturing all of this again. Suzanne was awesome!!
Thank you so much for being so trusting with your property to allow people to visit and enjoy it! We will be back.
